Acoustic Lay-in Panels
The
convenient, economic system for upgrading the performance and appearance
of existing ceilings and for special purpose applications requiring maximum
ceiling sound absorption.
The attractive flat Textured Functional Panels are quality engineered
to provide maximum sound control. Acoustic Lay-in Panels (ALPs) offer
an attractive method for quickly improving the acoustics in rooms having
marginal acoustic ceilings. Installation requires minimal labour and interruption
of ongoing activities in the area.
ALPs provide the solution for rooms having noise and reverberation problems.
Over the years, conventional lay-in ceilings have been frequently painted
to maintain appearance and light reflection(sometimes more than once).
This can degrade the performance of the ceilings in these areas by as
much as 50 to 70%. Any room with a 610mm x 1220 (2' x 4') lay-in ceiling
that needs added sound absorption due either to painting or original poor
quality of the ceiling materials may be upgraded by replacing as little
as one third of the existing lay-in panels with ALPs to restore and correct
the room's acoustics.
Not only do ALPs improve room acoustics, they also inhance the aesthetics
of the ceiling with their unique textured surface and three-dimensional
design. ALPs are fabricated from specially textured and embossed perforated
steel or aluminum. The catalyst activated polyeurathane enamel finish
provides a cloth like finish.

A = After; NRC = 0.60
B = Before; NRC = 0.30
Calculated data is based on an acoustical ceiling which has been painted
and the average noise reduction has been reduced to the levels indicated
by the plot line "B". In Caffeterias and other similar
rooms, treatment should include wall absorption as provided by Textured
Functional Panels (TFPs) or Eckoustic Functional
Panels(EFPs). |
